Size Notes:

Unframed: 60 by 40cm., 23½ by 15¾in. The canvas has a floating dust lining and the original canvas is providing a strong and stable support to the paint surface. There is some fine paint separation visible to the background otherwise the work appears in good condition, ready to hang. Examination under ultra-violet light reveals retouching to the upper and lower framing edge, and scattered tiny spots of retouching notably to the background and upper body. There is a thin small horizontal line of retouching to the left of his nose, measuring approximately 2cm. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report.
